Reverse engineering, repair and refurbishment
Legacy parts reverse engineered, and worn or damaged parts re-machined, rebuilt or remade from a sample, up to 10 tonnes, so plant goes back into service without waiting months for a new casting.
Back into service
Repair what can be repaired; remake what cannot
Large plant parts wear: bores go oval, faces score, keyways and threads fail. A new casting can take months; a repair often takes days. We assess the part, agree the repair with you, and re-machine it to restore the fit, whether that means re-boring and sleeving, re-facing, or machining oversize to suit a new mating part.
Where a part is beyond repair or no drawing exists, we can measure the original with our Faro portable arm and machine a replacement to match, working from your sample and the dimensions that matter to you.
Repair work is often urgent and usually a one-off. Our manual Sacem borer and experienced machinists are well suited to it: quick set-ups, no programming lead time, and judgement on worn surfaces.

Can you repair a part without a drawing?
Often, yes. We measure the original with a Faro portable arm and agree the critical dimensions with you before machining.
How quickly can you turn round a repair?
It depends on the part and machine loading. Tell us when you need it back and we will say straight away whether we can meet it.
Is it cheaper to repair or replace?
Usually repair, when the part can be restored. We will tell you honestly if a replacement makes more sense.
