Inspection
FARO portable arm inspection on and off the machine, with full dimensional reports available. Large parts are checked where they sit, so nothing waits for a measuring room.
Measured where the part is
On the machine and off it
Large parts are too heavy and too big to carry to a coordinate measuring machine. Our FARO portable measuring arm comes to the part instead: mounted on the machine table during a job, or on a tripod or surface plate once the part is off the machine.
Checking on the machine means datums, bores and critical features can be confirmed mid-job, before the part is unclamped, so any correction is made while the set-up is still in place. Final inspection then confirms the finished part against the drawing.
Full dimensional reports are available with your parts on request, recording the measured result for each feature you specify. Tell us the inspection and reporting requirements with your enquiry.

From drawing to dispatch
- DrawingSend the drawing, material, quantity and date. PDF, DXF, DWG, STEP or IGES.
- Review and quoteWe check size, weight and features against our machines and reply with a price and lead time.
- Set-upHeavy parts are craned in, set and checked against datums before the first cut.
- MachiningMachined to the drawing, in as few settings as the part allows.
- InspectionChecked against the drawing with manual gauges and the Faro arm, then released for dispatch.
