Machining of castings, fabrications and forgings
We machine large castings, welded fabrications and forgings up to 10 tonnes and 3 metres diameter or cubed, to your drawing. Send the material to us, or let us work with your foundry, fabricator or forge.

Raw part to finished part
Machined to finish after casting, welding or forging
This is the core of our ISO 9001 scope: machining medium to large castings, fabrications, components and assemblies up to 10 tonnes and 3 m diameter or cubed to customer specifications.
Castings in iron and steel arrive with machining allowance and need datums established before anything else. We set them up on the first machined faces, then bore, mill and drill the remaining features from those datums.
Fabrications move when they are welded. Machining after fabrication brings mounting faces flat and square and puts bores where the drawing says, regardless of weld distortion.
Forgings such as rings and discs are turned and bored to finish on our vertical lathes, then drilled or milled where the drawing calls for it.
Material is often free-issued by the customer. Our standard terms cover processing of materials you provide; tell us with the enquiry if the parts will come direct from your foundry or fabricator.

How a job runs
From drawing to dispatch
- DrawingSend the drawing, material, quantity and date. PDF, DXF, DWG, STEP or IGES.
- Review and quoteWe check size, weight and features against our machines and reply with a price and lead time.
- Set-upHeavy parts are craned in, set and checked against datums before the first cut.
- MachiningMachined to the drawing, in as few settings as the part allows.
- InspectionChecked against the drawing with manual gauges and the Faro arm, then released for dispatch.
